Coinbase
A major US-regulated crypto exchange whose real-time price feed is used by poly5m-v4 as part of a multi-exchange median signal.
Definition
Coinbase is a US-regulated cryptocurrency exchange and one of the three major spot exchanges aggregated by Chainlink RTDS for its crypto price feeds. Its BTC/USD and ETH/USD prices are published via WebSocket and REST API. Being US-regulated, Coinbase prices are often used as a reference for compliance-sensitive applications.
In practice
Poly5m-v4 connects to Coinbase's WebSocket feed in parallel with Binance and Kraken to compute a multi-exchange median price. This design mirrors Chainlink's own aggregation methodology, so the bot's signal price is more likely to agree with the oracle price used at market resolution. When the three exchanges diverge significantly, v4 treats the divergence as a chop signal and reduces position size or skips the trade entirely. Coinbase is also a useful cross-check for detecting Binance-specific anomalies that could generate false signals on v1-v3.
